    Running out of space...

In 2003, 80Gb storage was pretty much enough for most photo scans. Afterall, you'd come back from a two week trip and end up with like 26 rolls of film. Since I scanned every single frame, I'd end up with like 936 frames which with compressed TIFF scans, they only consume about 12Gb (you'd normally average about 11-13mb per scan). Fast forward two years to 2005 and I'm finding that 200Gb is filling up fast. In 2004, I went on a two week trip with 2 1Gb cards but it became 3 1Gb cards in 2005 and I was averaging 1.5Gb a day which means that on a fortnight travel, I'll have over 20Gb! So now, in 2006 with 4Gb cards which just means that the shoot rate just went up. And I don't have my 5D yet! And Seagate just announced disks that achieve 2.5TB!

Have storage, will travel with camera!

    Real life Resumes and Interviews

    Tuesday, September 19. 2006    #Life

I wonder what they teach in school nowadays... I've conducted about seven interviews over the past couple of days and I don't remember writing my first resume like this or answering interviews in this manner.
    In real life resumes:

Objective section: To get a job. RM1800 expected salary. Wow! How direct?!

Languages section: Can speech average and write english, chinese and malay. Hmm, what's speech and is there an "average" language?

    Interview question #7
You say your strength is mathematics. What sort of topics did you learn or what did they teach?
"In sem one, basic maths. Then one year later, advanced maths"
Erm, what topics do they cover, you know, statistics, calculus, number theory?
"Set also got, then got advanced maths"

    A Dim Sum Breakkie!

    Friday, September 15. 2006    #Food

icon_ltgray_open_quote Life is like dim sum. Some things come wrapped, and some things aren't. Some are steamed, some are fried. Some are crispy, others are fluffy. They all taste different, yet they are all fulfilling and delicious! Life is one dim sum buffet, eat up! icon_ltgray_close_quote
